Covering large built-in shelving with fabric?

My bedroom is a converted assignment, with two huge floor to ceiling shelving units (built in). I miss to use the shelves for clothing storage(as there is no closet), but I want to stretch over them with fabric.
I have a light green, asian inspired

Because of the bulk of your built-ins I would imagine you would want to be careful with your fabric costs because you absolutely will need quite a large yardage. I would look for something along the lines of consistent canvas which tends to be available

i stand in want my walk-in robe to have built-in wood units i have only seen what i am looking for in display homes but haven't been gifted to find a company that does it. i don't want wire racking or anything like that. if anyone knows how i could do
