Are mini-blinds "out" of style, as far as home furnishings?

Only as in fashion, home furnishings and decor styles variation, evolve, and come and go. It seems to me that mini-blinds are now passe. I get this impression from HGTV when designers talk over a home. Just like sometimes they'll say a kitchen needs "upgrading"
