My GE Profile Side by Side refrigerator Icemaker stanch working. The freezer still freezes everything and the fridge cools everything. I tried turning off the Icemaker for days, even weeks, when I move it back on , it makes three to six cubes and stop.
Call GE benefit at 1-800-626-2000 - sounds like it is broken to me. Maybe the icemaker is getting jammed or something?
The ice maker is built in and dispenses ice through the door. Arranged the ice tray there is a large metal coil that spins and moves the cubes to the door. That coil does not spin...there is nothing blocking it...just seems that its not getting any
If you informed entertain the motor running when you press the button then the gear in the auger (the circles) is probably stripped. If you can't hear the motor that's probably the poser. Of course it could always be the lever itself.
