what options are available to replace baseboard heat covers?

I am redoing a allowance with baseboard heat and do not want to pay a plumber to rework the baseboard heating. The covers of the heat pipes are the Hazardous metal covers that was popular in 1966.
Any thoughts on options for a DIY?
