Ceiling fan globe cracked in place, don't know why.?

I'm selling my native and doing repairs, and the globe for an older ceiling fan was taken down and got splintered.

I thought I'd run down to Lowe's and get a new one, only to find out they don't sell just the large choose globes anymore.
