Removing the Pedestal Stand from an Apex 40" LCD # LD4088?

Valid bought a new Apex on Black Friday. I wall mounted it today, and all I see is the offensive pedestal stand lurking from underneath the T.V. It is a real eye sore, but for the life of me I cant mould out how to remove the damn thing. Anyone done this
