How does a TV Wall mount secure itself to the studs in the wall?

When I look at pictures of the TV wall mount brackets they look supine in shape. If the studs in the wall are verticle, how do you fasten the TV mount into the studs? The studs are only a two of inches wide right? Are the holes in the wall mount in the

you will have to find more then one stud i think of. they are about 16 inches apart. the easiest way to find a stud is with a stud finder, but you can travel on the wall and where it doesn't sound hollow there is a stud.

How do I mount a picture frame to a wall?

I'm mounting a 24x36 essence frame in a very busy, public area. The frame will unquestionably get hit by people walking around, backpacks, etc. I need to find a way to mount the frame to the wall so it'll fight against these blows, not get shifted out

I would mount it into a stud and copy tape the sides and back. That should keep it in place.

I assume from the reviews and was felicitous to find a seemly battle against mount for a small screen smaller than thirty inches. However, after I bought the goods i realized something quite Draconian: The plates utilized to mount the idiot box to the present wall mount were FAR to big for the back of my 26 inch Samsung LCD tv. The mount on the liberal side worked impeccably, but on the veracious side, the mounting dish as a matter of fact hung down so far it blocked a lot of my input jacks.

As well as blocking my input jacks (as some televisions have them in the waist as contrasted with of on the side) the same brackets as a matter of fact stuck out a sympathetic seven inches ABOVE my boob tube.
