This morning we smelled smoke in our basement and opened the basement door. Clouds of blackguardly smoke in a wink gushed out and filled our undiminished council. We turned off the boiler and called someone to crop up b grow depollute it (since smoke had been an signal of it needing cleaning before) but $225 later, there were still issues (the boiler wouldn't fill with sea water). We then called a plumber who came and looked at it and said that on Friday incessantly, the boiler had clearly run out of water and rather than of shutting off, had kept prosperous and was now cracked and needs to be replaced.
My questions are as follows:
1. Where do I go to buy a new boiler? Our ongoing (pulverized) boiler is a Weill-McLain P-568-S (discontinued), about 10 years old. I have in mind I be in want of to buy one that comes in sections, because the only access is under the stoop. I estimate that means Best, because I'm not buying a Weil-McLain again.
2. How much does it outlay to supplant an oil-fired steam boiler? I'm barely accepted to do a just replacement, I am not effective to fantasize about conversion.
